Welcome to the Open Tech Academy Blog

A place for practical guides, project updates, and lessons from Open Tech Academy.

Open Tech Academy has always believed that learning works better when the door is left open. Our courses are free to explore, our tools are built in public, and our programs are designed to give beginners a real place to start.

The blog gives us a place to share what does not fit into a course.

What belongs here

Some ideas fit neatly into a course module. Others begin as a question at a workbench, a decision inside an open-source project, or a lesson learned while organizing a community program. This is where we will share those ideas.

Expect to find:

Written for the curious

You should not need a technical background to read this publication. When an article uses a specialized term, we will explain it. When a recommendation depends on context, we will name the tradeoff. When we are still learning, we will say so.

That approach reflects our larger mission: reduce barriers to technology education by publishing useful material that anyone can begin using immediately.

Keep exploring

The blog is one part of Open Tech Academy. You can also browse our free courses, learn about our programs, or explore the projects we publish through GitHub.

Welcome. We are glad you are here.
